About Broker Fees
MoveFrog has both fee based and non-fee based listings for rental vacancies. You can select if you’re only looking for fee based, only looking for non-fee based, or if you’re open to both. To further explain, here is a brief rundown of the ways in which rental vacancies are advertised.
Fee Based
A broker or website charges the renter to help them find a place to live. Since MoveFrog is FREE to search, any fee based listings on MoveFrog refer to a fee required by a broker, sometimes equivalent to as much as one month’s rent.Non-Fee Based
- Free to Landlords – Most of MoveFrog’s rental vacancy listings are of this type – free to search and free to list a vacancy – and upon renting that vacancy a renter owes only the required rent with no additional fees.
- Charge to Landlords – Depending on the market, some websites, apartment-locating companies, and brokers charge the landlord or apartment complex to fill a vacancy for them, and this also tends to be equivalent to one month’s rent. This can lead to higher rent due to the extra expense used to fill the rental vacancy.
- Free to Landlords – Most of MoveFrog’s rental vacancy listings are of this type – free to search and free to list a vacancy – and upon renting that vacancy a renter owes only the required rent with no additional fees.
MoveFrog wants to make your search for apartment and house rental vacancies as simple as possible, and that includes knowing beforehand about any fees you may encounter. Use this helpful feature to search only for those listings that match what you’re looking for.
