Cape Hatteras Lighthouse
Yesterday Move the frog was dragged up the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, all 257 steps. For the humans who had to ascend it, the trip can be somewhat physically demanding, but Move gets special treatment. Despite not meeting the height requirement, he was allowed up, and he even managed to avoid paying the entrance fee!
Move would have been blown off the edge if he tried to sit on the raling himself, so Krista, Ashley, Caitlin, and Michelle were kind enough to pose with him.
The lighthouse was constructed in 1870 and recently had to be moved from its original position because the ocean was creeping closer and closer. Countless ships and seamen owe their survival to the lighthouse and its keepers, although over 2000 ships met their untimely demise at the bottom of the sea off the coast of North Carolina in the 500 years since Sir Walter Raleigh and company first landed.
